Aunt Frieda’s Chocolate Cake by Shirley Gershen


1 dark chocolate cake mix*
1 box of instant chocolate pudding mix
1/2 cup of water
1 cup of chocolate chips
3 eggs
2/3 cup of cooking oil
1 cup of sour cream


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Use electric mixer for all liquid ingredients and then add all of the dry ingredients, except the chips.
  • Mix well.
  • Now add the chips.
  • Pour batter into greased bundt pan and bake for 50 minutes until toothpick comes up dry.
  • Or, pour into 3 small loaf pans and bake for 30 minutes until toothpick comes up dry.
  • May be frozen.

*NOTE: Can also be made with yellow cake mix or spice cake mix and butterscotch chips
