Mac Computer Advanced

4 sessions of 2.5 hours each

Prerequisite: A good working knowledge of Mac basics.

This is a hands-on class.  Students will need to bring a Mac laptop and mouse (if you use one) to each class.  Please make sure your laptop is charged and running the latest operating system, Mac OS Tahoe.

Continuing on from where Mac Computer Basics left off,students will be introduced & learn to use iCloud & iCloud+ for online storage of photos & documents. Other topics will include: Dictation, Airdrop, Live Text & Screenshots.

This is a hands-on class. Students need to bring a Mac LAPTOP and mouse (if you use one) to each class. Please make sure your laptop is fully charged and running the latest operating system which is currently Mac OS Tahoe.

Lesson 1

We will be learning more about iCloud & iCloud+ and how they can protect your data. We’ll be doing some fun things: customizing your icons, email “extras”, inline predictive text, video chat reactions and air drop.

Lesson 2

In case you lose your log-in password, we will be creating recovery contacts .These are people you trust who can help you get your mac unlocked. We’ll learn how to safely share your passwords and passkeys with friends and family. Other topics will be Split Screen Views, Using Dictation and Live Text.

Lesson 3

To help keep your desktop organized, we will learn Stage Manager and Stacks. In case you misplace your device, “Find My” is an excellent app that helps you find it. We will create a “Legacy Contact” so someone can access your computer if anything happens to you. We will learn Apple’s Image Playground (A.I).

Lesson 4

We will explore the many changes Mac OS Tahoe has brought and how to use them to work more efficiently. The new Password app will be explored as well as some new apps that Apple has added.
