PC Computing Basics 2

Prerequisite: PC Computer Basics 1 or permission from the instructor
This four-lesson class will build on the skills you started to develop in PC Computing Basics 1. We will teach you to enhance your desktop, the basics of the file system, and advanced features of word processing. We will teach you how to access the Internet and how to save your most frequently visited websites. Additionally, you will learn how to use the new free Microsoft Outlook mail client.
Lesson 1 – Customizing Your Desktop and Introduction to the Filing System

Lesson 2 – Creating a Document – Using a Word processor
● Exploring ribbons and tabs ● Selecting and deleting text ● Select and replace ● Printing text ● Cut, copy and paste ● Saving a document
Lesson 3 – The Internet, Edge, Favorites and the Microsoft Store
● The Microsoft Edge browser ● Using a search engine ● Saving and organizing favorites ● Finding and purchasing an App at the Microsoft Store
Lesson 4 – Using the New Outlook
● Using a mail client ● The Outlook window and its parts ● Creating Contacts ● Creating a Contact List ● Creating email folders ● Saving Attachments ● Netiquette ● Email security
