iPad: What’s Next

2 sessions of 2.5 hours each

Students are encouraged to bring their charged iPad to class.

Expand your knowledge of the iPad’s capabilities. Subjects covered are Safari settings and Safari searches, creating and using Bookmarks, adding a website icon to your home page, closing Safari tabs, activating and using Siri, navigating with maps, streaming music, the iTunes Store, reading and downloading eBooks.

Lesson 1: Safari, Phishing, and Siri

In this class, we will explore Safari in great detail so that you can do a search on just about any topic of interest to you. You will learn how to bookmark, add a website to your home page, and close tabs. You will also learn how to avoid phishing scams. In addition, you will learn what an amazing feature Siri is, how to activate it, and how to use it.

Lesson 2: Music, eBooks, and the iTunes store

In this final class, we will learn how to use the iTunes store to buy music, build an Apple music library, explore the wonders of Pandora and Amazon Prime Music. You will also see how to use your iPad as a radio. You will learn how to download and read eBooks from Apple books and Libby, the free library App. You will see that you can even turn your eBook into an audiobook! By the end of this class, you will wonder how you ever lived without your iPad.
