Mac Computer Basics 1

4 sessions of 2.5 hours each

You will need to bring your Mac Laptop & mouse to class to participate in this class. Prerequisite: none

Knowledge of these basic functions is a prerequisite for all other Mac computer-based classes including Mac Computer Basics 2.

Come join us and learn the amazing things a Mac LAPTOP can do. You will learn how to use the Photos app and create slideshows. We will also cover the App Store, Apple Pay, Mail & Messages, Internet basics and so much more. Learning about System Preferences and how to navigate the Dock helps you use your Mac in a more productive way. You will need to bring your laptop (and mouse) to class. Please make sure your laptop is charged and running the latest operating system.

Tour of the Desktop and Keyboard ● How to use the mouse ● Make, name, move and resize a file

● Exploring the Dock ● Use System Preferences to customize your computer

Lesson 3

● Learn to send email and messages with pictures and emojis ● Learn about Safari, Internet Basics and Email ● Create your personal digital address book using Contacts

Lesson 4

● Organize and edit photos with the Photos app ● Use Photos to make slideshows with music ● The App Store ● Apple Music
