Prerequisite: PC Computing Basics 1 or 2 or comparable skills.
Windows 11 is Microsoft’s new operating system. Does your computer have the prerequisite hardware and software in order to upgrade? Join SeniorNet in this two-week class to learn the fundamentals of the Windows 11 operating system. We will teach you how to customize your computer and cover many of the differences between Windows 10 and 11.

Since 2015, when the Apple Watch arrived, it has been gaining more and more functionality, which means more and more to learn about using it to its full potential. First and foremost, let SeniorNet show you what the Apple Watch can do to help you with emergencies in your everyday life: it can monitor your heart rate and alert you to a problem, detect falls and car crashes, and then automatically call for help. Your Apple Watch can be your phone as well. You can answer and make phone calls without having your phone ring and disturb others, and read and send text messages. It functions as a fitness tracker and even alerts you when it’s time to stand up and move around for a few minutes. Join the SeniorNet Apple Watch class to explore this amazing “wearable device” and learn more about it and what it can do for you.

In this two-lesson class we will teach you some of the more advanced tools of the Windows 11 operating system. Among the many other features of Windows 11, this class will include how to install programs, the new and (more useful) File Explorer app and some of the options you have in case your computer malfunctions. It is highly suggested that you complete Windows11: An Introduction prior to taking this class.

This course is appropriate for PC, Mac, Chromebook and tablet users.
Google provides a complete suite of FREE Apps for word processing, spreadsheets, email, calendars and more. This class will teach you the basics of the Google Docs word processor to create and format documents. Write a letter, create minutes from a meeting, produce a newsletter; it’s all possible using Google Docs.
iPhone: An Introduction
iPhone: An Introduction

Students are encouraged to bring their charged iPhone to class.
Starting from scratch or taking this course as a refresher you’ll gain confidence using an iPhone. Basic subjects covered are communicating with others using the phone, email, and text messages, and using Safari (Apple’s internet browser). Building on this, we will cover using voicemail and contacts (the address book), as well as downloading and organizing apps. Learn how the new Passwords App can help you save and create passwords. Expand your knowledge of the iPhone’s capabilities. Subjects covered are using the iPhone’s Camera and Photo Apps; using Siri (let your iPhone do the typing and some of the work); Maps (get directions); and using productivity apps such as the Calendar. The class finishes with an introduction to Apple’s iCloud, Find My and the Health App. This four-lesson class expands your knowledge of the iPhone and will make you feel like a Pro.In short, this class will give you confidence in using this incredible device.

Prerequisite: A good working knowledge of Mac basics.
Continuing on from where Mac Computer Basics left off,students will be introduced & learn to use iCloud & iCloud+ for online storage of photos & documents. Other topics will include: Dictation, Airdrop, Live Text & Screenshots. This is a hands-on class. Students need to bring a Mac LAPTOP and mouse (if you use one) to each class. Please make sure your laptop is fully charged and running the latest operating system which is currently Mac OS Tahoe.

Managing files is one of the most important tasks for personal computer users. Simply stated, if you can’t locate a file, you can’t use it. You’ll learn how to create a filing system, how to create folders, and how to navigate through the filing system that you designed.

Students are encouraged to bring their Android phone to class.
In this class, you will learn about settings, camera, email, web browsing, calendar, music and apps on your Android device. You will also learn how to customize your device, send texts, organize your pictures and much more. All these tools and functions will help you make the most of your phone.

Prerequisite: Ability to take photos with your iPhone or Android phone.
Photography can add so much to our lives by recording and sharing special events, places, family and friends, and most importantly, our cherished memories. It can also be a wonderful hobby, as it gets us out and about, keeps us busy and creative, and enables us to continue to learn, grow, and enjoy life.
Join us for this three-lesson class, to learn about some of the most popular types of photography (Portraiture, Candid, Landscape, Nature, Travel, etc.), best practices to improve your photography skills, tips and techniques to enhance the quality of your photos, and photo editing to adjust and enhance your most important photos.

Students are encouraged to bring their charged MacBook, iPad, or iPhone to class.
What is this mysterious iCloud — what does it do and how does it help me? Do you have too many photos on your device? Learn how to download them to free up space and save your precious memories. iCloud securely stores your photos, videos, documents, music, apps, and more — and keeps them updated across all your devices. It lets you easily share photos, calendars, locations, and more with friends and family. You can even use iCloud to help you find your device if you lose it. All will be answered in this class about storage, backing up, and sharing between devices.

This course is appropriate for PC, Mac, Chromebook and tablet users.
Google Forms is a hands-on introductory class designed to help confidently create and manage online forms using Google Forms. Participants learn how to build surveys, class registrations, and RSVP forms; add and organize questions; customize appearance; collect and review responses; and connect results to Google Sheets for simple record-keeping. The class emphasizes step-by-step instruction, guided practice, and practical applications relevant to community groups, clubs, and personal use, ensuring students are able to create, share, and manage their own forms.

The fee for the each hour is $20 payable three business days in advance. Handouts may be included.
